Wishing a Happy New
Year and God's protection for the year ahead to all lovely readers. Thank you
for taking the time to read my articles. In today's post, I will be sharing the
tips on dressing for different body shapes - pear, apple, hourglass and
athletic.
Dressing for Pear-shaped Body
Highlight the waist, neck or back with statement tops that
draw the eye upward. Accessories like necklaces and earrings are the secret
weapons for pear shapes. Look great in bright colors and bold patterns in tops
like plunging V-necks, cowl necks, bell-sleeves and scoop neck. A more
fitted and structured top shows off your narrow shoulder and waist. Layer with
A-line and Princess cut jackets that hit the mid-thigh. Dress in A-line styles
with dropped and embellished necklines, open back, dramatic sleeves and belted
styles. Skirts and maxi styles that hit below the knee elongate your frame.
Balance proportions by choosing more subtle and dark colors for bottoms. Choose
boot cut and flare denim styles.
Accessories for Pear-shaped Body
Statement or layered necklaces that hit above the bust and
large earrings are a great fit.
Dressing for Apple-shaped Body
Focus on highlighting your strengths by flaunting your legs
or wearing V-necked dresses. Choose breezy A-line silhouettes, flowy tunics,
relaxed boyfriend button-ups and anything V-necked. Wear printed or patterned
outfits to shift focus. Monochrome looks, dark colors, full or 3/4th sleeves
and flowy tops are ideal. Flared bottoms like palazzos create balance. Choose
skinny jeans or leggings and flare pants with heels to elongate the silhouette.
The hem should either come to the top of your heel or all the way to the ground.
Accessories for Apple-shaped Body
Wear statement bracelets, oversized earrings and necklaces
to draw the eyes up and down. Balance proportions by replacing a waist belt
with an upper waist.
Dressing for Hourglass-shaped Body
Celebrate your waist and highlight your neckline with
tops like form-fitting jersey knits, wrap tops, peplum blouses and tailored
tops with ample room in the chest. Anything with a V-neck, round neck or boat
neck is great. The hourglass shape already has balanced curves, so fit
everything off your narrow waist, from casual tees to button-up work wear
blouses.
Adding Layers for Hourglass-shaped Body
Layer with tailored jackets that hit the hip or above.
Wear A-line skirts that hit just above the knee or below.
Accessories for Hourglass-shaped Body
Wear statement necklaces and earrings to draw attention
to your neckline.
Dressing for Athletic-shaped Body
Emphasize your curves with tops that fit well and show
off your bust, like off-shoulder styles, deep V-necks and belted tops. Wear
A-line skirts and flared pants to balance proportions. Add curves with ruched
and wrap styles. Choose skinny jeans and leggings to elongate your legs.
Accessories for Athletic-shaped Body
Wear statement necklaces and earrings to draw attention
to your neckline. Choose chunky bracelets and oversized earrings to add curves.
